Yes, I believe prenatal testing should be routine for all pregnant women. I believe every woman shouldn't have a problem with being tested. I think every woman should want to know about if there's any health issues that needs to be addressed concerning the health of their unborn child. The reason a mother should want to know is that she will be able to know how to handle the special need of her child. Speaking as a women, I would want to know because I would have the option to determine whats best for me. If I was told that my baby would be born with a birth defect, I wouldn't terminate the pregnancy. I would do everything in my power to make sure my child is well taking care of.

I realize that you may not choose to terminate a pregnancy but there are women out there who would; and I believe that that is the wrong reason for terminating. Especially when the tests can give false-positives. I wonder if knowing months ahead of time is actually worse for a mother and her mental state!? It seems like a mother's feelings of joy and happiness would be replaced with dread and worry and anxiety.
