Healthcare: Right or Privilege?
I believe that healthcare is more of a right. I truly believe all people should have the right of being provided with health insurance regardless of how much that individual can afford. Furthermore, without healthcare the text states people are more likely to have poorer health, have significantly less access to care, and die prematurely than their counterparts with insurance. So, with this in mind I believe one has to consider a persons life and health is most important. Therefore, all people should hve the right of affordable insurance regardless of their income status.

Freddie I agree with 100%. Everyone should have the right to be able to go the doctor whenever they may feel without having to worry about bills coming to them. No one should have to suffer to have good health. The government should take it upon themselves to know that some people need that extra boost in their life, because they are trying to take care of their househod as well as trying to provide insurance for themselves and maybe family memebers also.No one should have to struggle with household bills and inusurance for their health.
I agree with you totally. Many people in the United States do not have access to health care. A new system of health care should be implemented so that everyone should be able to get good affordable insurance. The amount of money a person has should not entitle them to better healthcare than a person who cannot afford to pay.
This is a very inspiring way to view the situation: "I believe one has to consider a persons life and health is most important." This statement could not be more true. It is a shame that money is what seems to make the world go round, even when lives and livelihoods are at stake. Our government needs to step in and take control of this situation.
I agree as well, that health care should be a right. Unfortuantely, in our current setup, it is a privelege given to those who can afford it or those who are so poor they qualify for government assistance. There is a huge group who fall into neither catagory who are being overlooked. this is a serious problem.
There needs to be a way to give everyone the healthcare needed, and not punish the working who just can not afford the premiums or work for a company that does not offer insurance to their positions. I have been trying to find health insurance and run into the problem that the company I work for does not offer it, and the private ones are WAY too expensive to afford. If a system can not be set up like other countries have to provide universal healthcare, why can't it be set up on a scale where people pay what they can afford. Maybe that doesn't make sense, but if you make $200,000 a year why should you pay $20 when the single mom making $23,000 a year pays the same. It should be on a scale with equal care for all if it can not be free.
I agree with Jennifer, it is unfortunate that so many people fall into the category between those who have private insurance and those who are so poor they qualify for government care. I believe that everyone has a right to healthcare but there has to be responsibility and accountability that comes along with that. I feel that this nation was founded on giving people a hand up, not a hand out. There is so much opportunity for everyone in this country, whether you live in the slums or the mansion on the hill. Sure there are differences but consider people in 3rd world countries, THEY have very little opportunities. Many people CHOOSE not to work hard for a beter life and I do not feel that have a right to my tax dollars.
